About Local Eyes Travel Guides

Who we are
Local Eyes Travel Guides is a new initiative to provide high-quality, complete travel guides to exotic locations, while focusing on authentic traveling experiences.

Our policy
Naturally our first goal is to create guides that will aid a traveler during a journey and provide relevant, high-quality information and leads to truly experience the country you are visiting. But we also try to do our share by promoting sustainable tourism. As a result we added examples of responsible or eco-tourism in our guides, which often are local initiatives dealing with indigenous people, nature preservation or cultural festivities. Some examples can be found on this webpage (see also Charity). We encourage anyone to go and visit these initiatives, as they offer a great experience and help to preserve what makes traveling special.

How we work
Local Eyes Travel Guides gathers information from many sources, including tourism offices, development agencies and NGO’s. Together with the information from local people and travelers, we offer a blend of information that will help you on your journey and provide background information and interesting ideas. Naturally, the information is thoroughly checked on-the-spot by our editors or our researchers. They have  travelled extensively and have first-hand experience of the needs and wishes of our readers.

Our contributors
As much of the content comes from people who are interested in the guides and share our beliefs, we want to thank them for their efforts. Without the help of local people and travelers, it would not have been possible to create a travel guide that stands aside from others.
